Marvellous Melbourne Murders

Australian mystery fiction with distinctly Melbourne settings, traditional mystery structure, amateur sleuths, social observation and understated humour. The series is set in the early-to-mid 2000s, when mobile phones, SMS and emerging social media were changing the way secrets travelled but not necessarily making them easier to uncover.

A Most Improper End

Marvellous Melbourne Murders, Book One

Melbourne in the early 2000s is a city where reputation still opens doors, while mobile phones, text messaging and emerging social media are beginning to make secrets much harder to contain.

When a prominent member of Melbourne's social elite meets an unexpected and distinctly improper end, affairs, debts, betrayals and concealed alliances emerge from behind the polished façade of exclusive clubs and respectable families.

A Most Improper End combines traditional mystery, social observation and understated humour with a distinctly Melbourne setting.

A Filtered Fate

Marvellous Melbourne Murders, Book Two

Coming September 2026

Melbourne's laneways are built for secrets.

At The Bean and Leaf, a small café tucked between Flinders Lane and Collins Street, Joseph "Zen Joe" Kerrigan is known for exceptional coffee, quiet observations and cryptic sayings.

When Joe dies unexpectedly, those familiar routines begin to look less eccentric and more like clues. The investigation moves from Melbourne's laneways and vintage shops into academic circles and a hidden world of technology and corporate intrigue.

A Filtered Fate combines traditional mystery, Melbourne coffee culture, coded clues and understated humour in the second instalment of the Marvellous Melbourne Murders series.

Heartlands: Fields of Gold

Heartlands Trilogy, Book One

In the sprawling wheat fields of Western Australia, Lucy Harding is determined to protect her family's legacy at Harding Farm.

When a difficult season threatens the farm's future, Lucy and her partner Daniel discover gold beneath the property. What appears to offer financial security soon creates new pressures involving the land, environmental responsibility, community expectations and those seeking a share of their unexpected fortune.

As farming and small-scale mining become increasingly intertwined, Lucy and Daniel must determine what prosperity really means and how much they are willing to sacrifice to secure their future.
